Embroidery show room
Inside Veranda Jasu you’ll find a cozy space with small cute tables and potted plants scattered throughout. It’s a store in Suyeong-dong where you can go to to purchase embroidery goods and take embroidery classes.
In Korean, when the word “veranda” is pronounced phonetically, “bae ran da,” it can break down into three different words translated to multiply, sincerity, and richness. From this hidden meaning in the store’s name, the owners derive their creative philosophy for the goods in the store. As designers they want to think outside the boundaries placed on traditional uses of embroidery. To help beginners, the store sells tutorial videos with their DIY packages and also offers a 4-week long course for embroidery making.
